Summer is the best time to explore Medicine Hat.
If you aren't sure where to start, Avenue Living has some suggestions for fun summer destinations.
Echo Dale Regional Park
Start your summer at the park that has it all! Echo Dale Regional Park, just 15 minutes from Scherer Place, features a lake perfect for a day of swimming and another lake for fishing. You'll also find a pirate ship playground, volleyball courts, baseball diamonds, restrooms, picnic areas, and concession stands.
Police Point & The Nature Centre
Summer is a great time to enjoy that natural beauty that we're so lucky to have here in Medicine Hat. The Police Point Park, a 97.7 hectare green space, has plenty of trails for hiking, walking, or jogging and it's less than 10 minutes from Matthew Manor. Want to learn more about Alberta's wildlife? The Nature Centre offers interactive activities for all.
South Saskatchewan River
While the sun is shining, it's the perfect time to explore the river on a jet boat. River Bend Adventures offers guided tours along the South Saskatchewan River where you'll see dinosaur fossils, local wildlife, and historic sites. Other great ways to explore the river include standup paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing.
Spray Pads
Children love to splash and play on hot summer days, so take them to a spray pad. There are several around the city including the Central Park Spray Pad, just four minutes from Belfast Manor, the Ross Glen Water park, just three minutes from William Manor, and Saamis Rotary Park, just three minutes from our South Park Apartments.
Mini Golf & Ice Cream
Hooplas Family Entertainment Centre, an 18-hole mini golf course, is the perfect destination for a sunny day. This course, although a little challenging, is fun for the whole family. Top off the afternoon with a stop for ice cream! Swirls Ice Cream is just a short drive from Scherer Place and Belfast Manor and serves soft ice cream, milkshakes, arctic swirls, slushies, and so much more.
Avenue Living wishes all our residents a safe, and fun filled summer season!
