People choose their next apartment or home rental based on conditions that works for them. For some, it could be the area, the distance to transit routes, but for many, it's pet-friendliness. For one Avenue Living Communities (ALC) resident, a home that welcomes pets is important, and her furry companion is quite the social butterfly.

Meet Winston, and, well, Winston's Mom! (Also known as Kimberlee.)

Kimberlee and Winston live a quiet, peaceful lifestyle in Red Deer, Alta. in an ALC property that they're proud to call home. ALC's properties are all pet-friendly with up to two cats and one dog under 20 lbs allowed per household.

Kimberlee's 'why ALC' is not only an apartment that welcomes Winston, but also one that feels like home.

"I've never once felt ignored. The [ALC Red Deer] team work well together," says Kimberlee. "They are all friendly and easy to work with. They go out of their way to keep people happy and content in their homes."

The Red Deer team's 'Duty of Care' to go above and beyond, with a visible concern for resident satisfaction, is what makes Kimberlee feel particularly at home. She says any concerns are always attended to in a timely manner, the maintenance staff are always friendly and prompt, and disruptions are always resolved.

But it's also the love Winston receives that warms her heart.

"Most recognize him more than I," says Kimberlee. "I'm known as Winston's mom and that's great with me."

Those who have had the pleasure of meeting Winston love him. He's always greeting residents, and the ALC Red Deer team always greet him back.

"It impresses me," says Kimberlee. "It makes me feel like we're both home."

While this is Kimberlee and Winston's first home in an apartment building, they have both adjusted well, owed to the welcoming team. Kimberlee also praises her property's security features and the maintained common areas, which make her feel safe and comfortable.

"Peace and safety are extremely important to my health and Winston's, and I feel I'm given that here," says Kimberlee. "I feel happy and settled. And I am always impressed at how wonderful everyone is to my Winston."
