Lead Facilitator

We are seeking a talented Lead Facilitator who is passionate about effective communication and is geared to deliver adult learning programs. They are eager to learn and help where needed and take initiative when the opportunity arises. This dynamic individual keeps the participants engaged by making the delivery of the learning material relevant to role, memorable and fun! The Lead Facilitator is a critical member of the Organizational Effectiveness team because they are bringing to life the processes and practises of the organization and optimizing the expected results for strategy objectives.

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness (DOE), the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing all facilitator material and programs related to delivering training. Additionally, as our team grows the Lead Facilitator will be included in the development and training of additional facilitators.

What you will be doing:

  • To review and or create learning material and develop facilitator content and employee training programs for all provinces - ongoing
  • Apply updates to facilitation material as needed
  • Facilitate training sessions in the field: Deliver training to various roles
    • Travel within Alberta while working directly out of the Calgary Head Office
  • Support additional facilitators in Train-the-Trainer updates and activities
  • Provide training feedback to Organizational Effectiveness and People Partners
  • Provide immediate onsite direction/feedback that support training efforts to various roles
  • Organize training schedules for participants and leaders
  • Prepare materials for participants

Standards of Performance: It is expected that the Lead Facilitator work from the Calgary Head Office. Regular, at minimum, weekly check-in and review of work with DOE for direction. Professionalism in the workplace conducted in-person and via e-communication is expected. A business casual attire is acceptable. Bi-Annual Performance reviews will be conducted by the DOE.

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent command of English language both verbal and written communications skills.
  • The Lead Facilitator must be able to communicate with a variety of different people to create effective presentations. Second Language skills are considered an asset.
    • Passionate about adult learning & development and the success of the participants
    • Self motivated, dynamic, capture the attention of class participants
    • Participating in the roll out of new training programs
  • Excellent listening skills and takes direction well
    • Openness to learn and collaborate within the Organizational Effectiveness team

    • Regardless of the type of presentation, the goal is ultimately to generate more business for the company. The Lead Facilitator (and team) are obsessed with communication, learning and development skills and key performance indicators to ensure training presentations are engaging and that participants are completing training with more knowledge or skills to do their jobs.
  • Organizational Mind & Good 'Eye for Detail'
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on schedule
  • Proficiency with content management software (LMS)
    • Great computer skills: Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Power Point (Yardi is an asset)
  • Ability to adhere to strict or changing timelines and production schedules
