HR Business Partner

In this role you will act as a key consultant to the company on all things HR. This is a new role, and you will have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the centres you support.

The opportunity

The HR Business Partner will help the organization achieve results through people. They will work closely with Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) and Residential Portfolio Managers (RPMs) to provide counsel on human resource-related issues, as well as proactively assess and anticipate HR-related needs within each portfolio they support. The HR Business Partner builds relationships and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

What you will be doing:

Program Development

  • Develop and implement HR programs
  • Support full HRIS implementation

Partnership

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity, engagement and retention
  • Proactively handle and address employee issues in a timely manner, identifying issues / concerns before they become greater problems
  • Facilitate change management and the implementation of new programs or procedures
  • Provide guidance on workforce planning and succession planning
  • Act as a delivery channel in each centre to facilitate essential communication, training and initiatives from HO
  • Provide Management with ongoing HR support in whatever capacity will be most effective, whether that means working along side the RPMs and RVPs, or leading them from behind providing expertise, coaching and direction, or taking the lead where appropriate
  • Help out where needed

Recruitment

  • Proactively anticipate recruitment needs; recognizing gaps in talent for current and future growth
  • Provide expertise and support in managing the recruitment process to ensure consistency, reliability and the ability to attract and retain high quality talent
  • Provide a positive recruitment experience for potential new hires

Onboarding and orientation

  • Provide on-site orientation training and onboarding for all new hires, setting them up for success and ensuring a positive new hire experience

Employee relations

  • Consult with managers to provide HR guidance on a variety of people-related issues
  • Help manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Conduct investigations where necessary, in a timely manner

Performance management

  • Provide day-to-day performance management to RPMs and RVPs
  • Assist with the formal quarterly performance review process and performance improvement plans
  • Coach managers on how to have performance conversations

Policy & Procedures

  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Training & Facilitation
  • Identify training needs for each portfolio
  • Facilitate and deliver training in a timely manner

Employee Separation

  • Assist with documentation, provide guidance and expertise, and participate in termination meetings to   mitigate risk
  • Conduct exit interviews; track and analyze feedback; provide recommendations

What you need to Succeed:

  • University degree or diploma in related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist position
  • Experience in HR program development and HRIS implementation is an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • A valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle is required
