Fund Analyst Administrator

Calgary Contract

Avenue Living's fund accounting department is seeking a finance/accounting graduate to help support the team in a fast paced and challenging environment. This is an initial three-month contract position, leading to a permanent role for the right candidate/individual.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day maintenance/administration on two funds/trusts
  • Order tracking and loading to our investor software applications
  • Investor information updates
  • Monthly process closing for each fund
  • Monthly distribution calculation and payment process
  • Monthly commission calculation and payment process
  • Reviewing subscription/redemption agreements
  • Monthly fund reporting to various stakeholders
  • Monthly/Quarterly NAV calculations
  • Monthly performance reporting preparation
  • Weekly unit balance, order activity and bank reconciliations
  • Filing, scanning of statutory files and updating information on relevant systems 
  • Liaising with clients and responding to clients queries in a timely manner
  • Verifying report schedules, ensuring that reports sent to clients are accurate and mailed within scheduled timeframes
  • Interacting with clients on an ad hoc basis and providing information as needed
  • Assisting external auditors during year-end audits

Your Profile:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting or finance concentration
  • OR Currently working towards a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration with an accounting or finance concentration with anticipated graduation in 2020
  • No prior experience required Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Interested in pursuing a financial designation (CFA/CPA/CAIA) a plus

  • Computer skills – computer proficiency is vital (Microsoft suite), intermediate excel is a must (Vlookup, Sumif, Tables, Sorting/Filtering, Pivot tables.)
  • Organizational skills - being able to prioritize tasks, manage your time effectively
  • Capacity for Change – ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs and expectations
