Wallpaper isn't just found in your grandma's house anymore; this popular form of interior decoration may date all the way back to Renaissance Europe but has seen a resurgence in popularity over the last few years. While wallpapering the walls of your apartment may not be allowed, there are many other ways you can enjoy this wonderful decorative tool without disrupting the walls of your rental. You may not have thought of using wallpaper on these places.

1. Shelves - wallpaper can add a fun hint of colour underneath, or a sliver of pattern on the sides that can really add a unique look to your space.

2. Chest of drawers or beside tables – wallpaper on the tops of these pieces will work great because of their flat surfaces. It can instantly revive an older piece, tie your bedroom together or add a splash of colour or pattern to an otherwise neutral bedroom.

3. In frames – graphic art is beautiful but can be expensive! Create your own with some unique wallpaper housed inside vintage frames from a thrift store or a garage sale. It will be a one of a kind piece that's easy on the wallet!
