Marketing Manager

Calgary Full Time

Avenue Living Communities, a fast-paced, fast-growing owner and operator of apartment buildings in Western Canada, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager, in Calgary. Backed by our entrepreneurial spirit, passion and commitment to great customer service and satisfaction, we have acquired a portfolio of 9000 apartments since our inception in 2006 and are continuing with this aggressive growth plan. To support this growth, we are seeking to welcome the right candidate into our family.

As our Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be a leader on the team responsible for telling the world (and company) the story of our product. You will be expected to be our chief advocate for a specific feature set and their benefits. Additionally, you will be charged with orchestrating the strategy around the messaging, marketing, communications. As well as sales and data capture for Avenue Living Communities initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Sales

  • Review analytics to drive marketing efforts online and traditional for the requirements needed per center.
  • Lead the marketing team in tactical marketing efforts that adhere to deadlines
  • Develop tactics to drive qualified traffic
  • Lead marketing team to coordinate campaigns for flawless execution
  • Ensure all marketing data trackers are up to date
  • Monitor competition marketing strategies
  • Leverage customer intelligence to increase sales

Branding and Community Relations

  • Ensure marketing material match the current brand identity
  • Review sponsorship opportunities
  • Work with Community relations coordinator to support local events and campaigns


  • Calibrate the customer experience alignment
  • Ensure social and resident communication is responded to promptly through the appropriate channels
  • Create and develop community engagement opportunities in collaboration with marketing team, internal and external stakeholders


  • Develop and mange informal and formal flexible workflow between marketing and content contributors
  • Develop and manage workflows between marketing, external partners and stakeholders
  • Deliver consistent experiences across all channels and devices
  • Develop and manage standard workflows for the creation, review, and approval of all content


  • Oversee management of content stored, versioned, distributed to various output systems
  • Ensure consistent experience for all channels
  • Adapt and reformat content for target channels to enable dynamic marketing

Reporting and Analytics

  • Strengthen customer intelligence capabilities
  • Develop and capture feedback and reporting analytics
  • Track performance of using common metrics; click rate, conversions, revenues
  • Communicate results and performance using consistent and relevant metrics to senor leader on a timely basis

Generic Tasks

  • Travel may be required to various centers
  • Ensure new signage is ordered and installed in a timely manner for new acquisitions
  • Evaluate performance of marketing team

Ability to quickly adapt to change


  • Property management industry experience is preferred
  • 3 + years in a Marketing Manager role
  • Strong understanding of marketing analytical data
  • Education in Marketing/Communications/Advertising/Sales
  • Experience with online marketing including, including social media and content marketing, SEO
  • Tactical online experience driving sales results

Leadership Competencies


Marketing strategy/research/management, consumer behavior, company/industry knowledge, proficient in use of Lift (website management), Kijiji Dashboard, Google My Business, Google Analytics, Call Center Reports, MRI and all social platforms (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.)


Time management, relationship management, critical thinking, strong communication and organizational skills, flexible, collaborative, entrepreneurial, adaptable, emotionally intelligent.
