Job Description

As a Credit Controller, your role is to support the Leasing Specialists and Residential Portfolio Managers in their day to day sales (leasing and renewing) activities, as well as approve and decline applications for residency. Strong written and oral communication is required, as you will be expected to answer calls from our field teams and respond to a high volume of emails in a timely and efficient manner. You must be passionate about helping others, problem solving, and have a strong attention to detail. Experience in credit control and account reconciliation is required. Experience with Yardi Voyageur is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Approve and decline lease applications based on credit thresholds
  • Audit lease documents as required (data entry into internal systems, uploading documents etc.)
  • Basic troubleshooting of various software systems
  • Ledger investigation and reconciliation
  • Identify, suggest and actively participate in process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes
  • Sales tracking and reporting
  • Timely follow up to outstanding tasks and items
  • Field and coordinate front line accounting inquiries for the field operations team

YOUR SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Strong attention to detail
  • General Accounting skillset
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible in nature. You possess a keen ability to recognize problems and create an effective course of action to solve the issue
  • Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Self-directed with the ability to effectively manage your time and resources to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to work a flexible rotational schedule including weekends
  • You display a professional and positive company image
  • You thrive in an ever-changing environment

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Yardi Property Management software utilization experience
  • General ledger auditing and Credit Control (2-4 years)
  • Property management coordination or administration
